Your legs work hard for you each and every day. They carry you to and from work and school. They make many of your favorite activities, like hiking, swimming, and biking, possible. And when it’s swimsuit season, they can even make you feel attractive and proud. Vein Disease can keep your legs from functioning at their best and can put a damper on your quality of life and confidence.
Some forms of vein disease include:
- Varicose veins and spider veins
- Leg swelling and pain
- Chronic venous insufficiency
- Skin Changes
- Leg Ulcers
While women tend to experience vein disease—especially varicose veins—more than men, everyone is susceptible. And though you can see some signs of the disease, as is with varicose veins, there are other signs and symptoms that are less obvious to be aware of including:
- Leg heaviness
- Itching and/or rash
- Tired legs
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, or are have noticed the appearance of varicose or spider veins, don’t despair. There are many treatment options offered at AVT that can get you back to loving your legs again.
Endovenous Laser Thermal Ablation (EVLT) eliminates large, painful varicose veins and is minimally invasive. It is an ultrasound guided outpatient treatment that can have you both looking and feeling better in very little time.
Sclerotherapy is a treatment option that takes place in our office and can be used to treat superficial spider veins or ropy varicose veins. It involves an ultrasound or light for guidance as a small needle is inserted into the affected vein to inject the medication. It’s highly effective and leaves your legs looking smooth again.
A Phlebectomy removes medium-sized varicose veins under the skin. It is also minimally invasive, requiring only a minor nick in the skin, and is made even more comfortable with the use of a local anesthetic.
Whatever the condition is that you may be struggling with, feel confident knowing that there are treatments available that allow your legs to function better and look younger.
