Insurance FAQ’s
The treatment of varicose veins is usually considered medically necessary and is covered by most insurance companies. At Advanced Vein Therapy, we work with your insurance company to pre-authorize your treatment plan before starting any procedures. No upfront payment is required.
According to the No Surprise Billing Act, patients have the right to request and receive a Good Faith Estimate on services scheduled to be performed. At Advanced Vein Therapy, we have always strived for billing transparency, so we offer price estimates to all AVT patients before any procedure is performed.
Q. Will insurance pay for these types of procedures?
A. Most insurance plans cover these types of medical procedures. However, we will not know if your insurance will pay for these types of procedures until you have completed the evaluation process. We will submit documents and pictures from your initial evaluation to your insurance company for approval and coverage. As soon as we receive approval, we will call you to set up your treatment appointment.
Q. How much will I have to pay upfront for these procedures?
A. We will bill your insurance, and that will determine your coverage and responsibility. We do not currently require co-payments at the time of service, but you are welcome to pay them if you choose.
Q. If my insurance doesn’t cover these procedures, will I be able to make payment arrangements?
A. Yes. You can contact our billing department, which is more than willing to work with patients on payment plans. That number is 208-472-8124. You can mail payments to PO Box 9649, Boise, ID 83707.
Q. Do I need a referral from my provider to be seen by your clinic?
A. We accept both referrals from providers as well as self-referring patients, depending on your insurance plan requirements.
